Everybody is making the same observation about Storm Barbara's name
THE COUNTRY IS currently being battered by the mighty Storm Barbara.
There’s rain, gusts of wins, overturning wheelie bins and weather warnings. It’s all very unpleasant.
But one thing in particular is bothering everyone and that is the name.
Because let’s face it: Barbara is not an appropriate name for a storm.
You want storms to conjure up images of menace and destruction, but Barbara just reminds everyone of cute aunties, tea cosies and knitting needles.
Whoops!

What exactly is the process for naming these storms, eh?
We just can’t take it seriously.
Storms should be called things like Zeus and Olympia. The likes of Barbara and Desmond just aren’t ominous enough.
“Storm Barb.”
That said, there are a lot of Mams really enjoying their moment in the sun right now.
Just think of the jokes this woman is on the receiving end of right now
All hail Barbara Gale.
As for what storm will be heading our way next? That would be Storm… Conor
Followed by Doris (sounds like a Golden Girls character), Ewan (posh rugby player) and Fleur (NOTIONS!)
But for now, we’re stuck with Barbara
